The number of residential properties sold across New Zealand in July increased by 3.7% from the same time last year to 6,118 (up from 5,897), the highest for the month of July in 3 years.

Under the changes to the RTA, if a tenant causes intentional damage to a property then they are now responsible for paying either four weeks rent or the landlord’s insurance excess (whichever figure is less) to cover the damage.
The Million Dollar Price Report shows that in the first half of 2019 some 628 fewer houses over the million-dollar-mark were sold when compared to the same time last year –decreasing from 5,591 to 4,963. Auckland was at the forefront of this decline, with 722 fewer high-end houses being sold.
